Reception Marking the National Day of the Islamic Republic of Iran Held in Seoul

A reception marking the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of the Islamic Republic of Iran was held on February 10, 2026, at the Yeongbin Hall of The Shilla Hotel, Seoul. The event brought together senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps, as well as key figures from political, economic, cultural, and media circles.
In his welcoming address, H.E. Saeed KOOZECHI, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Korea, highlighted the achievements of the Islamic Revolution in science, technology, and economic development. He emphasized that Iran’s foreign policy is anchored in dialogue, mutual respect, and constructive engagement. Referring to 2025 as a challenging year for Iran, he stated that the country has continued to advance its development and international cooperation by drawing on its domestic strengths and maintaining a responsible and forward-looking approach. He further underscored the shared commitment of both sides to strengthen Korea–Iran bilateral relations and maintain sustained political dialogue.
Representing the Government of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Kyun Jung-ho, Ambassador for Climate Change and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, delivered congratulatory remarks. He conveyed his government’s best wishes for peace and prosperity to the Government and people of Iran. Recalling the longstanding historical ties between the two nations and recent diplomatic engagements, he reaffirmed the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation, enhancing cultural and educational exchanges, and strengthening people-to-people connectivity.
The reception was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, reflecting the Korean government’s continued positive and forward-looking approach toward further strengthening bilateral relations.
