Korean Taekwondo Master Kang Shin-chul Meets Iranian Ambassador in Seoul

Kang Shin-chul, a prominent South Korean taekwondo master and veteran figure who has played an influential role in the development and promotion of taekwondo in Iran, visited the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Seoul on Wednesday, October 7, and met with Ahmad Erfanian, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Korea. The meeting focused on the historical and cultural ties between Iran and the Republic of Korea, as well as the role of sports, particularly taekwondo, in fostering greater understanding and people-to-people ties between the two countries. Ambassador Erfanian highlighted the special place of taekwondo among the Iranian people and expressed appreciation for Kang Shin-chul’s years of work in Iran and his contribution to training and nurturing generations of Iranian taekwondo practitioners. Kang Shin-chul, for his part, expressed his pleasure at the meeting and spoke about the widespread interest in and popularity of taekwondo in Iran. He also highlighted the talent and dedication of Iranian young athletes, as well as the efforts of coaches and officials, as important factors in the development of the sport in Iran. The two sides also emphasized the potential of sports and cultural exchanges to further strengthen the friendly relations between Iran and the Republic of Korea and expressed hope for continued interaction and cooperation in these areas.
