212Civil Organizations Including the Korean Bar Association Call for an End to U.S. Military Actions

.

212Civil society organizations, including “People’s Solidarity for Democracy” and the “Democratic Society Lawyers' Association,” held a press conference today in front of the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, strongly condemning the U.S. bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities. They described the attack as an act of aggression and a blatant violation of international law

These groups denounced Israel’s preemptive strike on Iranian territory as a breach of the United Nations Charter and labeled the U.S. attack on Iran as an illegal and illegitimate act of war. They condemned U.S. bullying in the Middle East and around the world, which they said has led to escalating conflicts.

The organizations demanded an immediate halt to all military actions and called for a return to the negotiating table.

Kwon Young-guk, a representative of the Democratic Labor movement who participated in the press conference, stated: “The South Korean government must not turn a blind eye to such actions. It should stand on the side of peace and life.”
